The VBM Freccia 8×8 wheeled infantry fighting vehicle is a neutral armored vehicle developed by Iveco-Otto Melara. The vehicle is the first model used by the Italian Army for network-centric warfare.
The VBM Freccia infantry fighting vehicle was developed between 1992-96 on the chassis of the Centaur 105mm tank destroyer. The first prototype was built in 1996.
The vehicle’s armor has been improved to provide the crew with better protection against explosives. Freccia’s internal space has been optimized to carry an eight-man combat team, including two operators and a driver in the turret.
The first VBM Freccia IFV was delivered to the Italian Army in February 2009 at the Army Multipurpose Experimentation and Testing Center in Montelibreti, Rome.

The French helicopter carrier “Joan of Arc” was originally named “Resolution”, and was later named after the heroine in French history-Joan of Arc. The ship started construction on July 7, 1960, was launched on September 30, 1961, and entered service on June 30, 1964.
The Jeanne d’Arc has a wide range of uses. It is used as a training ship in peacetime and can be used as an amphibious assault ship, helicopter carrier or troop transport ship with a little modification in wartime. When used as a troop transport ship, it can carry a 700-man landing battalion and its equipment.
The ship is 182 meters long, 24 meters wide, and has a draft of 7.3 meters. The power unit uses two gear turbines with two shafts and 40,000 horsepower. The maximum speed is 26.5 knots. At a speed of 15 knots, the endurance is about 10,000 kilometers. There is only one helicopter platform on the ship, which can carry 8 helicopters; the armament system installed later on the ship is equipped with 4 100mm anti-aircraft guns and 6 “Flying Fish” MM38 ship-to-ship missile launchers. The aircraft carrier “Joan of Arc” was modernized in 2000 and the 100mm anti-aircraft gun at the stern was removed.
