The German tank destroyer “Nashorn” (“Rhinoceros”) was one of the first self-propelled guns of the Wehrmacht with the famous 88-mm cannon mounted on it. Serially produced from February 1943 to March 1945, a total of 494 units were built. One of the strengths of the Nashorn self-propelled gun was a powerful gun capable of penetrating the frontal armor of most tanks at distances up to 2000 m. It was intended to fight Soviet heavy tanks. “Nashorns” until the end of the war were actively used by the troops.
