The German Leopard 2A8 main battle tank is the latest model in the Leopard 2 family, first publicly unveiled in 2023. It is a heavily upgraded version of the Leopard 2A7+. Designed specifically for modern high-intensity combat and multi-dimensional battlefield environments, this tank features comprehensive enhancements in protection, firepower, and digital systems. It employs next-generation multi-layered composite armor, a modified 120mm L55 smoothbore gun as its main gun, and its fire control system and target identification capabilities have also been upgraded.
In terms of defense, the Leopard 2A8 comes standard with the European version of the Trophy Active Protection System (APS), which, combined with phased-array radar and laser warning equipment, can effectively detect and intercept incoming anti-tank missiles, rockets, and other projectiles. Furthermore, the tank integrates a digital battlefield management system (BMS), a situational awareness system, and an auxiliary power unit (APU), significantly enhancing its multi-domain combat capabilities and battlefield sustainability.

USS Stevens (DD-479) was a Fletcher-class destroyer of the United States Navy, named in honor of Rear Admiral Thomas Holdup Stevens III. Construction began on December 30, 1941, and it was completed on June 24, 1942, and commissioned on February 1, 1943.
As one of the pioneers of the aviation-oriented destroyers of the U.S. Navy, the USS Stevens had its No. 3 gun emplacement and No. 2 torpedo tube removed, and a seaplane catapult was added behind the second funnel. Related equipment for seaplane operations, including a recovery crane, was also installed, and the aft superstructure was modified.
Following a series of tests and practical applications, the U.S. Navy discovered that the converted destroyers had poor seaworthiness in rough seas. The presence of seaplanes and catapults shifted the ship's center of gravity aft, causing imbalance. Furthermore, the limited space for storing and mounting seaplanes on the destroyer created operational obstacles. Therefore, in late 1943, the USS Stevens was refitted back to its original Fletcher-class armament. From 1943 to 1945, the refitted Stevens was deployed to the Western Pacific, providing cover for island landings, fire support, and patrol missions. After the war in 1946, the Stevens returned to San Pedro, California, and was decommissioned and mothballed on July 2, 1946, remaining in the Pacific Reserve until its scrapping in December 1972.
