Chance Water ‘s F4U Corsair was one of the main fighters of the US military during World War II and the Korean War. Because the demand for aircraft exceeded the manufacturing capacity of Vought Company, Goodyear Company joined the ranks of “pirate” production. The Corsair produced by Goodyear was named FG. From the time the aircraft first entered the US Navy in 1940 until the last one was delivered to France in 1953 , Vought produced 12,571 F4U ” Corsairs”. Includes up to 16 different models. It is the longest production piston fighter in U.S. history.
