The USS Missouri is the third ship of the US Navy’s Iowa-class battleship. It was built in 1944 and entered service in the same year. In January 1945, the USS Missouri officially joined the US Pacific Fleet as the flagship of the 3rd Fleet. From February to July 1945, it participated in several battles including the Battle of Iwo Jima, the Battle of Okinawa and the attack on the Japanese mainland. The USS Missouri witnessed the historic moment of the end of World War II——September 2, 19459:02, Japanese representatives signed the unconditional surrender instrument on the deck of the USS Missouri moored in Tokyo Bay at that time, marking the end of World War II. The Mi-17 is an improved development of the Mi-8. Its fuselage structure, transport capacity, and airborne equipment are basically the same as those of the Mi-8. A particle separator is installed at the front end of the air intake of the engine, which can remove hard foreign matter such as sand and dust, and prevent hard particles from being sucked into the engine. This is a feature that distinguishes it from the Mi-8. Because the tail rotor has been moved from the right to the left, the Mi-17 is very recognizable. Improvements to the Mi-17 over its predecessors include a shock-absorbing system. Improved pilot and passenger comfort. Equipped with a new navigation information system and the latest communication devices, it can ensure the transportation ability in day and night and in bad weather. The model with a high power-to-weight ratio was replaced with a TVZ-117 or TVZ-117 VM turboshaft engine, with a take-off power of up to 1,900 hp. The Mi-17 has an emergency single-engine flight capability (depending on the aircraft’s mission weight), and if the output power of one engine drops, the other engine can be balanced by the loaded power sharing system. If a single engine fails, the other engine can automatically increase power to maintain flight.
