9P149 is a tank destroyer developed during the Soviet Union. It was developed to replace the Soviet BRDM-2 chassis tank destroyer. When the Western M1 Abrams and Leopard 2 tanks emerged, the military needed tank destroyers that were more effective against these threats. The 9P149 uses the same 9M114 “Storm” anti-tank missile as on the Mi-24 gunship.

      9P149 is based on the chassis of the MTLB armored personnel carrier. The military division of the crew compartment area is equipped with a single-arm launcher that can be retracted. And equipped with an automatic loader. The machine gun turret was eliminated and replaced by a large optical sighting device. The vehicle can only fire the early standard version of the “Storm” missile, because the modified version is too long for the 9P149’s autoloader.
