This aircraft, serial number unknown, was Major Garth Jared’s during his time as CO of 309th fighter squadron. The aircraft bore his initials, in addition to the ‘Eleanor’ nose art.D SCHEME: MJ897 ‘Curieux’, GR 2/33 ‘Savoie’, French Air Force, Dijon, France, September 1944. This colourful scheme belonged to GR 2/33 ‘Savoie’ of the French Air Force. Unfortunately, the aircraft was destroyed by flak in January 1945.
