Dragon has launched a new 1/35 scale kit of a Jagdpanther Early-Production tank destroyer. What sets this one apart from previous early Jagdpanther kits is that it’s a 2-in-1 kit. This means that modelers can choose to build their armored fighting vehicle either with or without the distinctive Zimmerit coating consisting of small squares.

This choice is a big deal, because the box contains no fewer than two complete lower hulls, two fighting compartments and all sorts of other parts. Everything necessary for a coated or uncoated early Jagdpanther is provided here. Of course, the characteristic Zimmerit texture is beautifully recreated, saving modelers the dreary task of having to add this to the kit themselves. This 1/35 scale Jagdpanther, bristling with sensational levels of detail, offers brilliant value to modelers.

1/35 Panther Ausf.F w/Night Sight and Air Defense Armor
Some regard the Panther as Germany’s best tank of WWII, and approximately 6,000 Panthers were manufactured from 1943-45. However, the war ended before the planned ultimate Panther Ausf.F variant entered production. The main feature of the Ausf.F was a redesigned Schmaltürm “narrow turret” possessing a narrower frontage and thicker armor. The turret featured a modified 7.5cm gun known as the KwK.44/1 in a bell-shaped mantlet. The turret would also have had a built-in Zeiss stereoscopic rangefinder mounted in armored blisters either side of the turret.

If it had been built, the Panther F would have been a prime candidate to receive the FG1250 infrared sight, which Germany was trying out at the end of the war. German tanks were also very vulnerable to enemy fighters late in the war, so a special set of armored plates could be mounted atop the turret and over parts of the Panther’s engine deck. These steel plates that were 5-8mm thick were double-spaced on the turret top to improve protection against aircraft strafing and shrapnel. Dragon is now offering such a Panther Ausf.F with all the aforementioned accessories such as the night sights and the interesting set of add-on antiaircraft armor. The item utilizes Dragon’s previously released kit of a Panther Ausf.F tank but it comes with new infrared sights. The air defense armor plates are made of photo-etched parts, including the prominent double layer mounted atop the turret. The final result is a unique-looking Panther, this kit being perfect for a “what if” diorama or as a standalone item.

The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter is one of the most famous fighters in the history of aviation and also one with the longest operational life: its history began at the end of the 50s and ended, for some air forces, in mid 2000s. Its unique airframe, with slender fuselage and very little wing surface, made this aircraft ideal as an interceptor. Thanks to the thrust of its General Electric J79-GE-11A afterburning turbojet engine, it could exceed Mach 2,2 with an excellent rate of climb. But it was not very manoeuvrable and difficult to pilot. The F-104G Starfighter was produced on license by several European aviation industries. From the mid-60s, it became the standard interceptor for many NATO countries including Italy, Germany, Holland, Greece, and Turkey. The armament was basically the same found on previous versions, with a 20mm Vulcan cannon and the option to fit under the wings air-to-air missiles, bombs, or additional fuel tanks to increase the airplane’s range. With time, reconnaissance duties were added to the traditional interceptor service. The F-104G was therefore equipped with a dedicated “Orpheus” reconnaissance external pod that gave excellent operational results.

LANCIA DELTA HF INTEGRALE

COLOR INSTRUCTION SHEET

The Lancia Delta HF four wheels-drive is considered an Icon of the Rally Competitions History. The Delta HF was produced in the second half of the 80s and participated in the World Rally Championship from 1987 to 1988 winning two world titles and achieving important results in a lot of competition as the Rallye de Monte-Carlo and the Rallye San Remo. The Lancia Delta Integrale was the evolution of the Delta HF. It was introduced in 1988 and dominated the World Rally Championship winning several constructors’ championship and an impressive number of competitions up to 1993. Updated in many aesthetic details that made it more muscular and aggressive, as the enlarged fenders and the new designed air intake on the engine bonnet, the Lancia HF Integrale was also improved in driving and engine performance. The 1995 cm3 turbocharged engine increased its power up to 185 hp. The Lancia Delta Integrale dominated the World Rally Championship between the 80s and early 90s, bringing many famous pilots as Miki Biasion or Juha Kankkunen to victory.

M6 GUN MOTOR CARRIAGE WC-55

The Gun Motor Carriage M6 was developed on the famous 4×4 Dodge WC52 frame adopting, on the rear deck, a 37 mm. light anti-tank gun. Thanks to its Dodge T-214 6 cylinders engine the M6 was able to reach, on road, the speed of 90 Km/h. The United States Army used GMC M6 from the late 1942 up to the end of World War II on all the operating theaters as the Mediterranean, the European front and the Pacific. The GMC M6 was set up and developed to be anti-tank vehicle but, since the first clashes in Tunisia, its light gun was often ineffective against the most recent German tanks protections. Its main role was partially changed and the M6 started to be used as infantry support vehicles.

Stralis Hi-Way distinguishes itself for a number of important technological and aesthetic differences when compared to the previous versions. The cabin has an updated design and is equipped with integrated electronic systems that optimise comfort on board and provide additional safety. The evolution of Stralis is also distinguished by a “powertrain” that minimises fuel consumption and reduces maintenance costs. In fact, the motor complies with the new anti-pollution parameters stipulated by Euro 5. In 2017, Iveco officially approved the supply of a Stralis Hi-Way with livery dedicated to the Abarth racing department in order to transfer cars under the brand name Scorpione between one race and another.   To reinforce this partnership between the two brands, IVECO will manufacture a special limited edition of 124 models of HI-WAY with white livery and red and grey finishes, which are the traditional colours of the team.
