1/48 Nakajima Ki-43-I Hayabusa (Oscar) “1st Flight Regiment” Limited Edition

Leaders in lethality

In the tight-turning dogfights of WWII, Allied pilots frequently mistook the Ki-43 for the Zero. This mistake could have lethal consequences. Though lightly armed and unarmored, these aircraft tallied numerous victories. Their maneuverability made them dangerous opponents but necessitated a total absence of armor. This, coupled with their lack of self-sealing fuel tanks, made them relatively easy to destroy-if you could keep them in your sights. Kit features decals for three aircraft of the 1st Flight Regiment.

Decal Options:

  1. IJAAF 1st F.R. 1st SQ Akeno A.F. Summer 1942
  2. IJAAF 1st F.R. 2nd SQ Akeno A.F. Summer 1942
  3. IJAAF 1st F.R. 3rd SQ Akeno A.F. Summer 1942

1/48 British Phantom FG Mk. 1 “Treble One” Limited Editionhsgs7441main-med

Ghosts on the go

The 111th Royal Air Force Squadron is as storied as any squadron in the RAF. In 1974, the squadron received the first of its F-4 Phantoms. These high-performance aircraft helped fill the gaps that the shorter ranged, less powerful English Electric Lightning left in the RAF’s defences during the Cold War. In 1975, RAF 111 and its F-4s redeployed to Leuchars-the northernmost air base in the British Isles. From there, they were responsible for interdicting Soviet recon missions. This limited edition kit features two sets of RAF 111th Squadron decals.

1/72 Mikoyan-25PD Foxbat “Russian Air Force” Limited Edition

Iron aircraft

Virtually all stainless steel construction made the Foxbat stand out before it ever took wing. In the air, it really “took off”. With an operational top speed of Mach 2.83, it was one of the fastest of all active-duty military aircraft. It was designed to fly high and fast in order to confront the threat from Cold-War era US recon planes and bombers. Along the way, this aircraft set world records that still stand. This limited edition kit features decals for Soviet Air Force and Russian Air Force planes.

1/72 MV-22B Osprey “VMM-265 Dragons” Limited Edition

On tilted wings

Tilt rotor aircraft are a completely new concept for the US Marine Corps and one which has quickly caught on. These aircraft are capable of maintaining the speed of conventional turboprop aircraft and then tilting their rotors to descend or ascend like helicopters. This keeps them out of the hot zone longer. Additionally, they are able to move a maximum of 32 troops at a time or up to 20,000 lbs of internal cargo-far more than the Blackhawk. This limited edition kit features decals for VMM-265 “Dragons” and VMM-262 “Flying Tigers”.

1/72 KI-51 Type 99 Assault Plane (Sonia) and Light Bomber (Lily) (2 kits) Limited Edition

Destructive duo

In the China-Burma-India Theater, the Ki-51 “Sonia” found its niche as a strafing craft that could use rough landing strips and fly dangerous low-level missions. The armored Ki-51B variant of the “Sonia” added protection for the pilot and oil tanks to improve survivability. The Ki-48 was also in its element in Burma. There, its speed and agility let it outrun or outmaneuver early American and British fighters and its 800 kg bomb load sowed chaos amongst the defenders. This limited edition combo kit features two aircraft with Hokota Flying School decals for each.
